postal info

So dear friends, it appears the mail strike/lockout here in Canada is going to be over tomorrow. Actually today but it's tomorrow when they will start wading through the backlog of mail and begin to deliver it again. YAY! (I think as I have not heard what the terms were that the government legislated them back to work with.) Anyways, it's going to take a while for them to get caught up on it all and as I am waiting for components that are stuck somewhere in there I'm going to wait to reopen until July 1st in celebration of mail again, Canada Day and Pride festivities here in the GTA. (No I am not a lesbian but I do have more than a few friends who are LBGTT and the view is quite nice too.)
Thanks for hanging on with me during this delay! And as always, keep updated here and on my fan page (don't be shy to like).

blog name changes

In case you were wondering… I am in the process of switching all my personal accounts to loreleybee (or my real name) and saving MsNovemberTuesday / msnovtues for my business brand. I hope this doesn’t screw anyone up too bad! I’m in the process of updating links so if you don’t see it changed just substitute loreleybee for use with my twitter and tumblr.

Oh, I also deleted my myspace account! I might make a new one and I will let you know if I do.

All my business accounts/shops (artfire/etsy/zibbet/deviantart) as well as my fan page and this blog are unchanged.

Thanks for hanging in on the ride!

well folks

I was hoping to not have to make this decision however, Canada Post is now in the process of sealing all mailboxes after locking out their striking staff. What does this mean? Well the short version is that there is now no mail delivery and no mailing anything out. Shorter version.... if you rely on the post you're fucked two ways Tuesday! I guess I'm going to have to shut the shops down. My only other option is private courier which the price point on a lot of my stuff just isn't worth it. Or letting customers know they can buy but I can't mail until this is done and it could be 2 days or 2 months and keeping people waiting is just not acceptable to me so I guess it's vacation time. This sucks! I'll keep you posted (sorry for the pun).
Now I have to go let the shops know.......
Oh and did I mention aside from the mail, Air Canada is on strike and it's looking like my municipal workers are going to be doing the same on Saturday?! Can i fire 'em all and hire people who really need the job?

so strike

Ok so apparently they are on strike at Canada Post. Right now it's rotating cities (mine is next) for a 48 hr work stoppage. How in the end this is going to affect things, who really knows. They say it's business as usual unless it's your city affected but um, from what I keep reading not so much. For now as long as it stays a rotating strike, I will keep on business as usual. If they truly start striking I will be switching to a courier as my delivery service and or taking a short holiday from the shops. Here's hoping it's business as usual since I have a few packages on their way to me! I'll keep you posted....lols couldn't resist.
For now I've got to go write up a blurb for the shops informing them so...

news

So I just wanted to pop in and just let you all know there may be a postal strike here in Canada tomorrow. If this should happen I am not sure of what delays or disruptions to shipping there might be. I will keep you updated and post notices in my shops if need be. I will consider using a courier company which would be increased cost but guaranteed but I won't make any decisions until I know if the strike is happening and just what it will affect.
Otherwise I have been in design and create mode with a few new things in my shops. I am slowed down right now with a finger injury but don't expect it to be anything too disrupting. How are you liking my new banners? The fan page is slightly different in layout but I think these are the best yet and like them (if I do say so myself).
For now it's late and I'm off to do some reading. Yet another Andrew Mayne book, who if you haven't checked out on Amazon.com kindle .... well you should.
